This July, Creative Tech Camp will be holding two school holiday programs for kids:

Creative Coding with Scratch

What’s it about?

  • It teaches the basic concepts of computer science for young children

About Scratch

Scratch is a project of the Lifelong Kindergarten Group at the MIT Media Lab. It helps young people learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively. With this program, you can program your own interactive stories, games, and animations — and share your creations with others in the online community.

Who is it for?

  • 8 – 10 years old beginner students

When is it?

  • 14 – 18 July, 2014

Fees and Requirements

  • Bring your own laptop (PC, Linus or Mac)
  • RM899 for 5 half day sessions

Modding & Java Programming with Minecraft

What’s it about?

  •  It demonstrates the powerful world of Java programming through the world of Minecraft.
  • Children will start with the fundamentals of Java and Minecraft tools before they begin modding.

About Minecraft

Minecraft is a sandbox indie game originally created by Swedish programmer Markus “Notch” Persson and later developed and published by Mojang.

When is it?

  • 21 – 25 July, 2014

Who is it for?

  • 10 – 12 years old beginner students

About the Instructors

Dr Ewe Chun Te

Chun Te holds a Ph.D. in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Imperial College London. In London, he worked for >3 years in Internet start-ups and IT consulting.He returned to Malaysia in 2010 and joined a local strategy & management consulting firm for 3 years. Chun Te is now working on his passion and to impart this passion for technology to children

Audrey Ng

Audrey holds an MEng. in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Imperial College London. During her studies, she actively engaged in teaching and education activities for summer school kids in London. Audrey’s biggest satisfaction came from imparting the fun and excitement to learning while children explore their curiosity.

Creative Tech Camp brings fun, exciting and hands-on technology education to young children. At Creative Tech Camps, young children learn to create video games, mobile apps and build DIY robots. Along the way, they will develop 21st century skills that will help them become creative, innovative and adaptable adults.
