As a mother to a child who is a huge fan of Thomas and Friends, these music CDs have been my saving grace on many a car journey. Whenever my son was difficult in the car seat, music really soothed the savage beast. Or rather, Thomas’ music did. Definitely a best buy

Hi Kerry, the quality of the free downloads in the links above are variable. Some are pretty decent and some are quite bad, although my son enjoys them all the same.
After a while, I found that it wasn’t enough and bought these online:

They are the audio to the stories from Rev Awdry’s book and are read by Michael Angelis. They are excellent, not too expensive and you can burn additional copies for the house and car.
The Great Discovery is read by Pierce Brosnan whom I think doesn’t quite carry it off as well as Michael Angelis but the story comes with songs that my son enjoys so I got it, too.
