Gavin received his first report back from school yesterday. I was pleased to note that it was a glowing one. We have parent-teacher interviews on November 14, so it will be interesting to hear more about how Gavin’s been getting on at school.
But it appears that we now have our homework cut out for us. There is a concert on at school and Gavin will be performing the “Animal Boogie Dance”. He is supposed to dress up as an animal and he has chosen to be an elephant. I found several elephant costumes on eBay, but it is questionable whether we will get them on time.
Our next bet is Sungai Wang, since that was where we found Gavin’s Bumble Bee costume for his first birthday party. We were originally going to make our own until we discovered a ready-made one at Sungai Wang.
Failing that, we could always make one with a gray shirt and shorts, a hair band with felt elephant ears, felt tail and a stuffed gray sock for a trunk. It won’t look as nice, but it’ll be creative at least. My SIL also recommended making a paper mache mask which is definitely another idea.
I seem to recall seeing a few party places around with costumes available for rent, but as luck would have it, I cannot remember where. Does anyone know of any party places we can check out around Klang Valley that might have an elephant costume for rent or sale?
