Before Gareth was born, I went on a cloth diaper rampage and both some new diapers for Gareth. One of the sets of diapers I bought were from Pretty Printed on Etsy. They were having a special promotion with 6 fleece diapers for the price of 5 (US$14 x 5 = 70). The diapers include a microfiber insert and are available in two sizes with adjustable snaps to accommodate a growing baby.
Given my past experience with Gavin’s size at birth and rapid growth rate in the first six months of his life, I opted for the larger size. It was probably just as well that I did because Gareth fits into them very nicely now. The good thing is that Gavin could also wear them and was using them for a while when I was still potty training him during his afternoon naps.
These diapers aren’t waterproof but they are water resistant. You can wear them as a diaper with the microfiber insert or as a diaper cover without the insert. You can order them as pocket diapers – which I did – so you can customise its absorbency. Although it states that they can be used overnight, I have my doubts about that unless you add another super-absorbent insert.
I love them because they’re really soft, they breathe better than the PUL diapers, and, well, I have a thing for fleece. They’re also easier to wear compared to the Mommy’s Touch diapers I currently have. I don’t really have any complaints about them except that they are a bit bulky and can be a little too much for a small baby. Since my boys are hardly considered small, that isn’t really a concern of mine. I haven’t had any problems with leakage either which is terrific. I find that my Mommy’s Touch diapers sometimes don’t fit quite as well around the legs and Gareth sometimes pees through the gap that forms when he’s in the sitting position. Perhaps because of the way the fleece sits snugly against his legs, this hasn’t happened with the Pretty Printed diapers.
The promo that I purchase is no longer available, but Pretty Printed is now offering a special trial offer. Pay only US$9 instead of the usual US$14 for one diaper plus insert. You can try the diaper before committing to buying more.
