G1 is learning about different art styles at school. This week, he learned about Pointillism.
Pointillism – a technique of painting in which small, distinct dots of color are applied in patterns to form an image.
The artist they have been studying is Georges Seurat – one of the artists who developed the technique of Pointillism. Georges Seurat was famous for his works like Bathers at Asnières and A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte which were painted in the style of pointillism.
The children had to create a piece of artwork using Pointillism and this was what G1 came up with – Lego Mixel Flurr:
