This is a series of flashcards introducing Mathematics. Just for clarity, this series falls under Bits of Intelligence rather than the Math series because it teaches the overall concept of Math. In time to come, I intend to cover stuff like Pythagoras’ Theorem and calculus under the Math section (as soon as I figure out how to teach it, that is).

For the seven modern wonders of the world, I took the list that was voted in as the top seven wonders of the world in 2007. Although the polling system for selecting these seven modern wonders of the world was criticised as being un-scientific, I decided to use them anyway. If you want a more Scientific list, you can check out the list of heritage sites that were selected by UNESCO, who have a specific criteria for selection. Alternatively, you can check out the lists of seven wonders of the world according to their different categorisations, e.g. natural wonders, medieval wonders, etc.

Doman’s early childhood development program focuses on four things:
When I bought my Math and Reading Kits from the local Doman office, I was advised to start the bits of intelligence (encyclopedic knowledge) program from about 8 months onwards. Bits of intelligence cards come with a picture on one side and ten bits of information about the picture on the back of the card. The recommendation is to start with four Bits cards. Read out the names of the pictures and then one piece of information about that picture.
I bought ten sets of bits cards when I purchased the Math and Reading Kits. However, I have also made my own. In order to keep it fast and brief – as per Shichida’s instructions – I have dispensed with the ten bits of information. I find that aside from looking at the cards the first time I show the pictures, both boys never look up again after. The only way to hold their interest is to make sure the pictures are always changing and to keep the information short and sweet.
